A false alarm.

Had been busy preparing for a week just for today's Sec 5 revision, and last minute, our Science HOD came over to tell me that I will be taking over a Sec 3 class instead of going for the two-hour plus intensive revision.

Firstly, I felt a bit relieved, as I do not have to see those naughty kids, which I had been very worried about. Then, I felt a bit sad because all my effort is gone. Actually, not really gone lar...coz I can save those notes for next year. :)

Anyway, here are some pathetic photos taken for last week....
First, the Science and Humanities departments went to Marina Barrage for a mini learning session on 15 Sept (Monday).

The dam!

The teachers...

Me, Nadia, Soon Fong and Alex....the new staffs...of course, I'm the newest! :)

Me, if you can spot me!!!

19 Sept (Friday)
Our lessons end at 9.30am!!! Yeah, means I end my work by then...actually I don't have to teach on that day...so it means that I went there to have assembly only..haha..
Side track a bit, talking about assembly....we were having assembly, as usual, on that day....just when we finished our pledge, the sky started to turn dark...and drops of rain could be seen. I thought we would be dismissed, but the VP just continued with her teaching....and suddenly, a downpour! All of us were drenched. What a day!

Then, we travelled to St. Andrew's Cathedral for Prefects Commandation.

btw, the person that is accidentally taken, who is from 3ST, looks like my cousin, Kuang Jun...don't you agree? hehe..

still waiting for Alex to send me the photos...

Alright, I need to type out notes now. Will try to update if possible. hehe....

I wonder if boi is still reading my blog....hmm...

1st day at SASS

Wooh, finally got the chance to have some updates...haha...

went for a 2-day training course for teaching, and today, it marked the first day of my teaching career....
well, not really teaching...coz I won't be teaching for these few days. I'm currently preparing notes for the Sec 4s...my teaching notes...haha...I wonder if the teacher who is in-charge of me will approve my notes or not.

Anyway, I made a few friends in the training course....One of them is Babara, interesting name..having the same surname as me!!! Babara is my senior (also from MSE, grad in 2006). She went Chartered Semicon to work for about 2 years, and she said she can't stand the shift thing, so she decided to change her career. So happy to know her, just like a sister to me. We are both teaching the same subjects, so I think we will be able to share our teaching stuffs...haha. Today, she messaged me after work asking how is my day. She got into Springfield, and told me that the students in her class are very mischievous (trying to find a nicely phrased word for it), for express stream. I was thinking...oh no, I will be teaching the Normal...how am I going to survive. Anyway, I'm glad to know her.

In SASS,
Many things surprised me today.
Surprise No. 1: The principal leading the National Anthem by singing into the mic herself, without the background music.

Surprise No. 2: Lower Sec students really sang whole-heartedly, but I can hardly hear that from the upper Sec.

Surprise No. 3: I went to the nearby coffee shop for a "breakfast" with two other male teachers (who sat nearby). They invited me..haha...they are the more friendly one. What I'm surprised is, there is so much freedom..the only stress should be from the students ba...I enjoyed listening to them talking about the students, and the things that they did. Btw, their names are Soon Fong (if I didn't rem wrongly), and Alex (coincidentally, his surname is also Lim..so I know two Alex Lims)..

Surprise No. 4: I can end work at 2pm!!! Many teachers had disappeared by that time actually...and the two male teachers were amazed why I was still there at that time...when it was only 1.45pm...hmm, I'm really amazed. :)

Alright, I have to do my notes preparation. Those who have ideas on how to teach Chemistry well, and have any notes to spare, please contact me k... THANK YOU SO MUCH!

What's life like in there?

I've received the posting of school last week, and I will be posted to St. Andrew Sec School. My first reaction was, "What? A single sex school?? And next, a boy's school some more." Well, shall pray hard that I can mingle well with them...haha...

Pray for me, please. :)
